About Habit Formation
Habit formation is the powerful process of creating behavioral patterns that can significantly impact our lives, whether positively or negatively.
Why is it Important?
Habits are learned. They are stacked one by one on top of each other, like blocks. Poor habits are like gaps in the stack, causing a vulnerable space prone to collapse. Good habits are like a solid base, able to be built on further.

Every moment of every day, we affirm or contradict habits built through repetition, often unconsciously. Most of our habits are neutral or unbeneficial, while positive habits must be intentionally designed and developed over time.

An example of a habit in action is when someone zones out while driving down the road and ends up on a familiar route that they did not intend to take. That is a developed habit based on unconscious triggers created by the frequency of travel. "This is what comes next," the brain says, and then we act on what is practiced. This is also why we often repeat or continue things we may not want to do.
At its essence, habit formation is the purposeful and conscious creation of positive habits coupled with the effective dismantling of negative life patterns.
